I have over five years experience in clinical research nursing, with a solid background in surgical and general adult nursing. I started my career in research nursing with the department of Infection and Infection Control at Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust (London). In 2010 I moved to Sheffield and continued my career in research nursing with Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, working as a Clinical Research Nurse for Huntington's Disease before joining the MND team in January 2014, based in SITraN.

My role as an MND Clinical Research Nurse is to support the clinical academic team of neurologists in SITraN with the running of clinical research studies looking at biomarkers of therapeutic response to disease modifying agents in blood and CSF of motor neurone disease (MND). This involves working collaboratively with the clinical research team and the wider multi-disciplinary team, recruiting, education and managing data about the participants in the biomarkers of disease clinical research studies.
